Formerly called Groupe Conseil Talbot & Associes Inc., Laurentides Experts-Conseils Inc. is an engineering consultancy firm founded in 1992. We offer specialized services in civil, structural and environmental engineering and we work across a number of sectors.

Our objective is to provide impartial services in the best interests of our clients and their projects. Listening, accessibility, creativity, speed and ethics are just some of our values. Chairman: Mr. Lionel Talbot, Senior Engineer

Mr. Talbot has more than 42 years of solid experience, including 23 years in design and project management, civil engineering, structural engineering and other construction consulting services.

He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Manitoba and has been a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec since 1975.

Over the years, he has held various positions as an engineer, including 8 years at Bombardier where he was a project and design manager for recreational vehicles.

He also worked at Kenworth for 4 years where he was the Director of Plant Engineering Operations, Special Projects, Maintenance and Capital Budgets. In 1992, he founded his own consulting firm.

Director: Mr. Alexandre Guay, Engineer​​​​​​

Mr. Guay has been employed by Laurentides Experts-Conseils Inc. since 1997 and has a wealth of experience in civil engineering.

Each year, he handles more than 200 soil and feasibility studies. Following changes to the Canada Sanitation Regulations, he was also responsible for training municipal inspectors of the Laurentides and Lanaudière regions.

Mr. Guay completed his training in construction engineering at École de technologie supérieure. He specializes in hydraulics and road engineering.

Since then, he has also completed training courses in soil testing, water engineering and project management.

Ms. Françoise Girard, Engineer

Ms. Girard holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Université Laval. Prior to her employment at Laurentides-Experts-Conseils inc., she designed wastewater treatment systems to rehabilitate shorelines and wetlands. She also designed storm water ponds to protect lakes from cyanobacteria (blue algae).

Since Ms. Girard joined Laurentides-Experts-Conseils inc., she has designed wooden, steel, concrete and aluminum structures for various types of buildings, including factories, daycare centres, schools and skating rinks. She also has extensive experience in the design of foundations, including footings, piers and monolithic slabs. She has been working with us for 9 years.

Ms. Audrey Poretti, Civil Engineer

Ms. Poretti is a engineer and project manager with more than 14 years of experience in global civil engineering. She has been working at Laurentides Experts Consulting Inc. since 2015.

She specializes in municipal infrastructure studies, including the planning of roads, sewers, aqueducts, drainage and retention basins.

M. François Couture, Engineer in training

Having joined the ranks of Laurentides Experts-conseils, François has graduated since 2015 from the Ecole de technologie supérieur de Montréal in construction engineering and previously from Cégep de Baie-Comeau as a civil engineering technician. François has been an engineer in training for almost three years. His versatility and professionalism are due to his many work experience in several branches of the construction industry. From Radisson to Calgary via Havre-Saint-Pierre and Cornwall he has gained experience mainly in site management and supervision in the civil, mining, wind power and Hydro-Quebec substations and power stations. Curious by nature, François is not cold-hearted and is always ready to embark on new projects.

Since the end of his studies, François has worked for various general contractors which gives him an ease, a positive attitude, field knowledge and professionalism for all project stakeholders.

Ms. Julie Bélanger, Junior Engineer

Since graduating in mechanical engineering at the Université de Sherbrooke, Julie has been working in mechanical design. She worked at a consulting engineering firm as a junior design engineer before joining the Laurentides Experts-Conseils team. She has nearly three years of experience in mechanical design and with her five internships, she has nearly four years of experience in various fields; from medical to aeronautics, passing through robotics, industrial and composite materials. Having designed several construction equipment and lifting equipment, she is comfortable with stress and strain calculations as well as 3D modeling and fabrication drawings.

Mr. Richard-Daniel Brindamour Durocher, Junior Engineer

Mr. Brindamour Durocher is a junior engineer who has been working at Laurentides Experts-Conseils Inc. since May 2017. He has a wealth of consulting experience, having worked alongside many experienced engineers and project managers over the years.

His passion for civil engineering has allowed him to acquire varied knowledge in the fields of infrastructure and municipal roads. He distinguished himself by the rigour and vigour with which he executes his projects, both in design and construction supervision.

Mr. Marc-André Michaud, Junior Engineer

Mr. Michaud joined Laurentides Experts-Conseils Inc. in July 2017. He has extensive experience in civil engineering and has worked on various projects over the years.

He has held positions as coordinator, project manager and site supervisor at many engineering consulting firms.

He specializes in municipal infrastructure studies and the planning of roads, parking lots, sanitation and storm systems, aqueducts, drainage and retention ponds.

Mr Jacob Themens, Junior Engineer

Mr. Thémens is a junior engineer who has been working at Laurentides Experts-Conseils Inc. since December 2017.

He works as a project manager in structure.

 

Mr. Jean-Louis Laroche, Junior Engineer

Mr. Laroche is a junior engineer who has been working at Laurentides Experts-Conseils Inc. since January 2018.

He works as an environmental project manager.

Mr Frédéric Charbonneau, Junior Engineer

Mr. Thémens is a junior engineer who has been working at Laurentides Experts-Conseils Inc. since may 2018.

He works as a project manager in structure.

Mr. Sébastien Desautels, Technician

Mr. Desautels has over 15 years of engineering experience. He studied topometry and forest botany as part of a forestry technology course at Cégep de Baie-Comeau.

He continued his training in civil engineering technology at Cégep Montmorency in Laval.

Mr. Desautels has been working at Laurentides Experts-Conseils Inc. since 2003. He is a water treatment and materials laboratory technician.

Mr. Jonathan Boyer Talbot, Draftsman

Mr. Talbot has over 15 years of experience in making detailed technical drawings and plans for buildings, electronics and infrastructure.

With the help of various software, he participates in the preparation of plans for steel, wood and foundation works.

Mr. Réal Dion, Senior Draftsman

Mr. Dion has 50 years of construction experience. He has a wealth of experience working as a foreman in excavation.

He has also been an excavation and construction contractor for 8 years.

Mr. Dion subsequently reoriented his career by completing computer-assisted drawing training.

He then worked as a structural and civil engineering draftsman. Over the years, he has been involved in many projects.
